A Mind Blowing Experience… Right here in Dallas.

I haven’t watched Real Housewives drama in over a week. I can’t remember the last time I was on Pinterest. I wore red skinny jeans yesterday and purple crop pants today because that is all that is clean in my house and I am exhausted. Why…?

The Final Four has been here in Dallas and I had the opportunity to completely submerge myself into any and all of its related festivities. This was a big deal for Dallas and Dallas really kicked ass and put on a hell of a show in my eyes.

Bracket Town Dallas
Bracket Town was held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center next to the beautiful Omni Dallas Hotel.

Bracket Town Baseball
My all time favorite baseball player hung out with me at Bracket Town. He (sadly) had no interest in meeting Jason Witten with me, so he played baseball instead.

Jason Witten
Yes, you heard me. JASON WITTEN. Another gorgeous married man…

DeMarco Murray
DeMarco Murray… He looked at me, I saw his smile and I almost dropped my phone.

Bill Walton
This is Bill Walton. Other names that I didn’t know until this day are: Clyde Drexler, Alonzo Mourning and Mateen Cleaves. There were a few others but I already forgot them. I might can actually carry on a basketball conversation at this point…

Dallas Final Four skyline
Even this crappy picture shows how beautifully lit up the Dallas skyline was. Driving home to Dallas from the game in Arlington really made a local girl proud.

Jason Aldean. Willie (some Duck Dynasty guy). Best Friends. Perfection.

Josh Abbott
Eeek. Awkward eye contact. Act cool… act cool. EEEEKKKK. Straight face. Get your shit together. Okay, go talk to him. JOSH ABBOTT. You know… from Josh Abbott Band, the best Texas Country Band EVER.

Do yourself a major favor and listen to this song of his –> She’s Like Texas. Maybe this one too –> Taste. Okay, well while you’re at it –> Oh, Tonight.

It may or may not be on my bucket list to be his back up singer one day…

Not a big Bruce Springsteen fan, but I am a major fan of this picture I took.

Oh, so… they MADE me get on stage before Bruce and do the Charles Barkley bobble head. What (and Who)TF is that? Oh, a professional basketball player. Makes sense… But how do you do a bobble head dance? I only know how to shake my ass. And that’s what I did… in front of thousands of people… and got booed. But, not by Charles Barkley, if that makes any difference. He was a big fan and now so am I.

I was a wet-rained on mess after the Springsteen show and being one of the only girls wearing cowboy boots means people easily recognizing you… as the girl who shook her ass in front of thousands of people. Dammit.

Kid Rock is the exact bad ass we all expect and know him to be in real life.

Now the Final Four – the purpose of all of these events and the most mind-blowing and amazing thing I have ever experienced.

I don’t think my brain has been so over stimulated since I was a baby in a room full of bright colors. But, now it’s time to get back to the normal grind and catch up on life and Housewives!

XOXO,

Broaden Your Horizons

I’ll admit, I am one of those people that needs to know what someone is into before hanging out with them. I met a guy a while back, and thank God for Facebook because I saw his interests on his profile and country music was no where to be found. It was all international music which was kind of odd, but I’m not judging! I was just no longer interested.

Now, I’m not close minded when it comes to music- I promise. My taste in music is actually very eclectic. My iPod has everything from Britney Spears to Chris Ledoux, Marc Anthony, Pearl Jam and Big Sean. However, I pretty much live for Real Texas Country music. I have a lot of blog readers that don’t live in Texas, so I can somewhat understand if you’re not the biggest country music fan ever. On the other hand, if you live in Texas, you should have at least 20 country songs in your iTunes.

Here is a peek into my iTunes library:

I recently turned a non country music goer onto a country song and he actually liked it, which is huge considering he is a HOUSE music guy. I’m pretty sure his life changed that day.

If you need to broaden your iTunes library or just want a few good new songs, here are a few of my “Real Texas” favorites:

Touch by Josh Abbott Band
Taste by Josh Abbott Band
Oh, Tonight by Josh Abbott Band

Always the Love Songs by Eli Young Band
I call the Tune by Eli Young Band
Even if it Breaks Your Heart by Eli Young Band

One Woman by Randy Rogers Band
Tonights not the Night by Randy Rogers Band

Feet Don’t Touch the Ground by Stoney Larue
Look at me Fly by Stoney Larue

My Kind of Crazy by Brantley Gilbert

Good Luck and True Love by Reckless Kelly

Next Time by Casey Donahew Band
Runnin’ Through My Head by Casey Donahew Band

Spinning around the Dancefloor by Chad Mcbride & the Drifters

Wear My Ring by Bart Crow Band

Don’t want to spend a few dollars on a few good songs? Just hit up a country concert and you will definitely have a whole new love and respect for country music.

Sayonara 2011, Bring it on 2012!

Looking at 2011 in hindsight, it was a good year! Dallas Mavericks won their first ever championship, Texas Rangers got pretty damn close to winning the World Series, something is happening with the Dallas Stars, Charlie Sheen entertained most of us with his tigerblood and winning rants, planking gave people the excuse to lay horizontally on random things in random places, Occupy Dallas gave homeless people a place to live for a short amount of time, and Kim Kardashian taught us you can make a fortune on getting married AND divorced!

My year tops off all of that! I’ve never been one to make new year’s resolutions, but a little over a year ago I decided I was going to be completely selfish for the year. Some people need a week or even six months to be selfish; I needed the whole year. I wanted to focus solely on being a mom, my career goals, my finances, and doing what I wanted when I wanted to! It felt and still feels damn good, so I wanted to share some of my 2011 personal highlights with you!

I experienced my first Spring Break trip with my best friends in Panama City Beach. Talk about an experience…

Country concerts are my life; I didn’t go to enough this year. This is Josh Abbott Band, Chad McBride and the Drifters (from my hometown. Shout out!), and Randy Rogers band. If you like country, you need to download some tracks from these bands. Well worth your dollar or two.

First trip to Austin with best friends leads to an unforgettable night on the famous 6th street. Austin is probably my new favorite city besides Dallas!

I couldn’t resist putting a few pics of our nights out in Uptown Dallas. Our favorite Uptown spots include: Sfuzzi’s, Renfeild’s, Den Bar, Trophy room, Nick and Sam’s, Prime Bar, McKinney Avenue Tavern, and Coal Vines.

Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of my career achievements; I had a very successful year all because I pushed myself and worked my butt off!

I hope you make the best of your 2012. Set goals for yourself, be you and be spontaneous, love who you love, speak up, have faith in the plan God has for you, and live YOUR life.

XOXO,

Jordan
